Mark Latimer came across as knowing his field. He listened to all of my comments and gave a clear understanding of my health and what treatment was needed. He made me feel at ease and understood the challenges of being self employed. He also took the time to familiarise himself with my lesser known sport of mountainboarding and the effects it may have on my body.

An extremely skilled surgeon, this was my second knee replacement, both were done by Mr Latimer and his skill, knowledge and personality allows you to trust him totally. Even in theatre, he keeps you informed and creates a relaxed and reassuring atmosphere.

Mr Latimer has been fantastic in caring for my daughter, who has a long term leg condition. He listened to our concerns and was willing to consider a range of treatment options during the diagnosis process, in discussion with us. He has worked with other consultants to find the best treatment for my daughter. He has always been thorough in his analysis of problems and caring in his approach. He has found the time to engage not only with us the parents, but with my daughter during appointments. She never minds seeing Mr Latimer and enjoys his humour and attentive manner. The appointments are well organised and it is helpful that there is usually a nurse available to distract / play with my daughter if more difficult or lengthy discussions need to take place. Mr Latimer patiently answers questions and is good at giving clear explanations to children as well as adults. For my daughter he has also made the hospital a more friendly and less threatening environment. I would fully recommend this doctor.

Dr Latimer kindly visited our school where a 9 year old patient of his attends whilst we studied the topic of bones. The children loved listening to his presentation including fun games like spot the difference between X-rays. Difficult information was made easy to understand and all the children were engaged by his enthusiastic and super friendly approach. Discussing serious topics he had the ability to reassure the children so the medical world was accessible and not at all scary. His kindness, care and fantastic humour made for a really fun morning enjoyed by both the children and teachers alike. Practical demonstrations and practical handling also had the children fixated throughout. We hope to see Dr Latimer again in the future.
